Lafeber's Nutri-berries Parrot Food

Rating: 4

(4 out of 5)

Maximum Nutrition. Minimum Waste. Veterinarian recommended Nutri-Berries are the most fun-to-eat, easy to accept food ever made. These nutritious nuggets have the shape birds naturally enjoy and a balanced, superior source of nutrition with an irresistible taste and aroma. Better Health For Your Parrots. Proper nutrition is critical to the good health and long life of your parrots. Nutri-Berries were formulated by Dr. T. J. Lafeber and an avian nutritionist for that very reason. They contain only nutritious natural ingredients like hulled canary seed, cracked corn and safflower blended with savory peanuts, rolled into berry-shaped pieces and coated with vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and protein. Minimize Leftovers and Mess. These colorful, richly textured and invitingly shaped treats have a difference your bird can see, taste and touch. Your bird will thrive on the stimulation and beak exercise Nutri-Berries provide. The round shape helps assure that Nutri-Berries will supply the dietary needs of your bird. Nutri-Berries were designed to change your bird's bad eating habits, like picking out some seed and ignoring the others. Nutri-Berries are actually 96% eaten, meaning more nutrition for your bird and less waste on the floor for you. Packed in freshness sealed bucket with tight fitting lid. Nutri-Berries Feeding Schedule Combine Nutri-Berries with your bird's current diet. Once your bird begins eating Nutri-Berries, discontinue the previous seed mix. Note: Most birds a

The natural ingredients and eye-catching exteriors of Lafeber Nutri-Berries attract exotic birds.

June 29, 2010 1:17 pm | By Zootoo Editor Mary T.

From the mainstay bird food company Lafeber, the Nutri-Berries parrot food offers all of the nutrition of their full line of products. Although the food is not intended to replace full meals, the natural ingredients - such as canary seed, peanuts, and cracked corn - allow you to give this as a treat without feeling pangs of guilt.

Lafeber designs the Nutri-Berries to cut down on waste, claiming that 96% of the snack ends up in your bird's beak instead of littering the bottom of the cage. I found this number to be high, and picky eaters might leave even more of the treats aside. But leftovers can always be used for outdoor bird feeders, and it is true that this snack seems more appealing than similar products to even the most finicky of birds.

Although Lafeber's Nutri-Berries are not the cheapest bird treat on the market, the nutritional value and attention to keeping down waste makes this product worth the investment.

Pros: All natural ingredients and colorful textures make these treats appealing to exotic birds. And the food’s unique shape cuts down on waste.

Cons: Owners should be careful to make sure birds don’t consume exclusively for their daily diet—just as a special treat.

Gizzy likes Nutriberries but not as much as she likes nuts

posted 6 years ago

a easy to feed treat and quick add in to the daily diet
not meant as a complete feed
put it in your emergency kit unopened of course
and you can give the crumbs to the squirrels :)
Gizzy Prefers Nutriberries classic

Pros: nice packaging easy to hold shape no ethoxyquin

Cons: messy Gizzy tires of them near the end of the bag

Great as a treat, too

posted 7 years ago

While this is marketed as a complete diet and a way to convert seed-eating parrots over to pellets, Nutriberries also make an excellent snack/treat for parrots. My parrot usually gets one special treat a day, and it's often a Nutriberry. She loves these, and gets incredibly excited when she sees the familiar Nutriberries tub. The nice thing is, I feel like I'm being a good "pet parent" by giving her a treat that I can trust is also nutritional.

Pros: Very readily accepted

Cons: A bit messy

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
