Tony LOVEs pears. he would sit there and stare at me while I ate one, waiting for his turn to have the core. then he'd make a huge mess of himself by getting it all over his little face. so cute, and he loves them so much. just don't overdo it, since they have a lot of sugar in them!

I throw these outside for the birds and butterflies. They love the taste. The butterflies go crazy for fruit.

I always read up on fruits and veggies before I feed them to my guinea pigs. Pears are acceptable in moderation. None of mine will eat them, though. Maybe it's the grittiness of them, I'm not sure. They prefer their leafy greens and an occasional apple. Fruit is high in sugar, so it's better not to offer it.

My lory parrot, Bandit, likes apples more than pears, but pears run a close second! They're a great snack!
