Tropical fish are not decorations, no matter how pretty and graceful. They are living creatures and need to be cared for properly: plenty of room to swim with places to hide, regular feeding, correct water temperature, cleanliness, and aeration. If you do this, you can have a simple and satisfying hobby with a 5- or 10-gallon aquarium.
