Dog Pie a home made treat
posted 6 years ago
This is really simple and costs very little money. Get 2 lbs of beef liver from your butcher. Run it through the food processor until it is like a paste. Add one large can of pumkin. Heat oven to 350. Put the pie into a greased pie pan or covered casorole dish. Cook for 35 minutes.
The dogs love this. Aslo the pumkin is good for their bowel movements.
Watch your fingers. A dog that usually does not grab a treat may grab this.
This is also great for stuffing kongs.
Pros: Inexpensive to make and dogs really love it
Cons: If you dont like to cook you wont like this

this food is still fairly new and isn't available at a lot of pet stores--the vet supplies in my area carry it only. But if you can find it, get a can for your pup. My shepherd mix likes it and she'll take it out of the can, heated up or cold. Now that's a good food!
Pros: healthy ingredients, looks good, can be served cold or warm
Cons: my dog always wants it
