Comprehensive Guide for 5 countries

posted 5 years ago

No matter what you're told about the guides having bird books, it's always best to have your own if this is your interest. Gives you something to look at when you're in your tent at night! We were on the Tanzania/Kenyon border and our guide's book had been destroyed by rain so we used this Princeton Guide all the time. why spend so much time and money to get to a destination and not have the tools you need. This book contains 80% of the birds that have been recorded in sub-Sahara Africa so it's an excellent reference tool for most of the important wildlife sites.

Pros: Great format and color plates

Cons: Heavy when you are dealing with weight restrictions on small planes
