A Guide To The Birds Of The Galapagos Islands (helm Field Guides)

Used this extensively during our trip to the Galapagos. Many of these birds are found only on these islands so this was a great help. No one else in our group had it.

Sadly this is only available as a used book for it is a gem. Written by Isabel Castro and Antonia Phillips If you want to "do" the birds in depth, this is THE book for learning about the incredible endemics that gave rise to Charles Darwin's theories about evolution, as well as the resident and migrant birds for the "Islas Encantadas". If you go to the Galapagos choose a "green" small boat trip of a week or ten days, one that assures minimum impact which also insures personal attention by the on board naturalist.
