This is a classic dog and cat story. Dog meets cat. Dog loses cat. Dog gets bones. Seriously, this is a wonderful chapter book for kids just beginning to master chapters. In this story which is part of a series, the always lovable dog Mudge and his family find a shabby cat who instantly bonds with Mudge. The family tries to find an owner while they become increasingly attached to the cat. Eventually things turn out just the way they should. This is a great book!

This a wonderful chapter book for early readers. In the book, Henry and Mudge, his dog, find a cat with a face that only a mother could love. Their attempts to find the owner and their growing love for this little kitty are easily understood by the young child. A must read!
