This is a great food for you overweight cat. Also good to use for those cats that are getting alittle older.

Our cats were on this food before the vet made the (wise) decision to switch us to prescription food. Put simply, the cats weren't losing weight and one actually seemed to be gaining weight on Royal Canin food. While it's best for the health of our cats, we were sad to change cat foods. Our cats actually liked the taste of it and it did seem like they had more energy after eating it. Also, it wasn't a smelly food for us humans to deal with - some foods smell terrible even when its just sitting there in the dish. We liked the convenience of being able to go to the pet store and buy a huge bag of this once every couple of months. It was expensive, although it was cheaper than most Eukanuba foods. Then again, it didn't keep our cats' weight down, so it didn't really work as advertised. Probably a fine food for more active cats (though you wouldn't guess it from reading the label).

Our cat loves this food, helps reduce smell tremendously in poo, and cat stays slender (we have a lazy cat).

Maybe it is just my cats, but they don't care for this food. It is a healthy food and it does help to maintain weight, but my cats don't care for it.

Ion is an 18 pound male tabby, who to me is "just a big cat". However my Vet thinks otherwise and would like to see him about 15 pounds. Ion has been eating Royal Canin Light for a few months now and has maybe lost half a pound. I have faith in the food because I know the brand is good and I have faith in Ion, it just takes time to lose weight.

Pros: He eats it.

Cons: Hasn't lost weight yet.
