More, more, more pullllleeeeaaaasssseeeee mommy!

posted 5 years ago

I made a Wal-Mart run the other day and I figured I'd buy a new flavor of the Friskie's indoor food I give the kitties for their 6pm feeding everyday. Well, I've never known a cat that didn't like chicken so, I decided to buy 2 different flavors and types.

Well, yesterday and today we had chosen the Classic Chicken Entree With Brown Rice & Garden Greens for their dinner. Well, OMG, I had no idea they'd love this flavor this much!

They each get a teaspoon with a little dry food mixed in and, I also will add a little water to it to kind of give them a little 'gravy' since they love the gravied foods so much and this one is the patee' type.

Well, all you could hear coming from the kitchen was the sound of their aluminum bowls moving across the floor because they were trying to get every last drop out of their bowls and, believe me, THEY DID!

If you have hesitated about trying this food because you have a finicky eater, you shouldn't! Mine are pretty picky themselves and as I said, they want MORE!

Pros: Delicious in flavor, leaves them wanting more! See below for more

Cons: none really except that it's around 75 cents a can

A special Treat

posted 5 years ago

Our cats only get to eat this when it is on sale or we have a coupon or as a very special treat. It is amazing that they seem to know that it is more expensive & love it evenmore than their regular wet food. The Selects line is supposed to be healthier. The can claims that it "promotes healthy weight, hairball control, & 100% complete & balanced nutrition." The classic chicken entree also has brown rice & garden greens. Our cats devour this instantly. They absolutely love it & we do not notice any indigestion or side effects of their quick ingestion of this food.
It is typically about 99 cents/can at our local Stop & Shop as opposed to the regular Friskies that is less than half that price.
I suppose it is worth it if they love it.

Pros: One of their favorites

Cons: More expensive

Sound good but not so!

posted 5 years ago

I decided to try this kind of canned food since one of my cats is overweight. Selects indoor food is supposed to promote healthy weight and control hairballs. Could not be better! It turned out it was not so good for my cats. First, they did not eat the brown rice at all. Instead they were trying to pick out just the meat and one of them got an upset stomache each time she ate this food. Must have been from the garden greens. I am sure that there are plenty of cats who would love this food though, but not mine.

Pros: Healthy ingredients

Cons: Not good on sensitive stomaches

Cats like it

posted 5 years ago

I just recently bought some of the Friskies Selects. The Classic Chicken with Brown Rice & Garden Greens is a good healthy food for them and they like it, but it is not their favorite by any means. They are able to leave some behind so I know that it might take some adjustment to really love a healthy cat food.

Pros: Healthy food, cats like it

Cons: cost

Just OK food

posted 5 years ago

I guess this is OK for animals, only I noticed that the cats would not eat all of it. Usually they don't let anything stay on their plates once they've finished, but with this one there would be rice and other ingredients left. My cats are for more natural food, meaning more meat and nothing else, please :))

Pros: Healthy

Cons: Not everything gets eaten

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
