Made A Wonderful Birthday Treat
posted 3 years ago
I made a special trip in search of the new Fancy Feast Appetizers so that I could give one to Chetzer as a birthday treat, as well as have the opportunity to try the other flavors.
Chetzer LOVED the "Steamed Wild Alaskan Salmon" Appetizer. The Appetizer has limited ingredients: Salmon, Water, two "gums", and sodium nitrate (to maintain color). It is, in essence, SALMON!
The foil covering over the plastic dish is rather hard to remove--especially without spilling the broth/juice--and the plastic dish is on the small side for a cat to eat from. After Chetzer licked all the juice out, I poured the salmon onto a paper plate so that it would be easier for him to eat.
The $1.27 price for a mere 2 ounces is a bit high, but it goes with the territory: appetizers tend to be expensive and aren't meant as a "meal"--they are only a supplement. When used in moderation, they make for an excellent "treat".
Well done, Fancy Feast!
Pros: Cat LOVED It; Primary Ingredient IS Salmon; Without Byproducts Or Fillers
Cons: A Bit Pricey; Could contribute to obesity

Thanks Mom
posted 3 years ago
Well, cats love these Fancy Feast Appetizers and they are a once in a while treat. The steamed wild Alaskan Salmon contains only salmon, water, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum (thickeners) and unfortunately Sodium Nitrite--a food additive that alters the color of preserved fish and meats and also prevents growth of the bacteria that causes botulishm. On the plus side is the fact that there are no hateful by-products or unnecessary fillers. They are expensive and really unnecessary, but I find myself buying a few packages whenever I go shopping as they do make my cats very happy.
Pros: No By-Products or Fillers
Cons: Pricey and Frivolous

This was a dud for my Kittles
posted 3 years ago
As you will see in my video, Kittles did not like this at all. He took one sniff and walked away. I ended up wrapping it up and giving it to my sister.
I trust the Fancy Feast line and am rating this a 3 because even though Kittles did not care for it, I believe it is just the fussiness of his taste.
On a better note, he just loved the Skipjack Tuna appetizer!
Pros: Fancy Feast Line
Cons: more costly
