We used Adult and then Senior Science Diet for our dog. She always had good health reviews from our vet and never any digestion issues.

When we occasionally had to use another dog food, we noticed a immediate and significant increase in both the amount she ate and the amount of poo she generated.

I'm convinced we actually didn't spent that much more in the long run, given that less is needed to give the god the right nutrition. It was definitely worth it due to the very significant reduction in backyard cleanup!!

This food is probably the only reason my older dog lasted as long as she did. Five years ago, she was very overweight and we were concerned for her heath. We started feeding her and our other dog Science Diet and she quickly returned to a healthy weight. (We also started taking her on more frequent walks).
Our other dog didn't seem to like the taste very much and still looks up at us after we put the bowl on the ground as if to make sure there is nothing better waiting for her.

Pros: Really helped my obese dog lose weight

This food is perfect for my "classics" (my nickname for my two oldest dogs). They still have a lot of energy, but they do need extra nutrition for their joints. I definitely recommend this food.

Comes in different size kibble and bags. My dog always preferred the "small bites" and I like this large (35 lbs.) size bag.

This food can be somewhat costly, however.

Hills was the first company to make dog food for your dog's special needs. I will trust any of their foods. This is a lower fat, lower protein diet for your senior dog. It meets all requirements for your older, healthy K9. A good nutricious food that I have fed for many years.
