Dogswell Happy Hips Dog Treats should please your pooch's joints and his taste buds.

October 28, 2011 12:15 am | By Zootoo Editor Mary T.

From the folks at Dogswell, Happy Hips Dog Treats are clever little snacks containing both glucosamine and chondroitin — both proven to help dogs maintain healthy joints. The treats are straightforward snacks that pooches love to eat, but that also help them grow old in style (and still be able to beat a puppy to a tennis ball from time to time).

So how well do Happy Hips Dog Treats work? Splendidly. Our tester pooch has had hip and joint problems all his life, and Happy Hips Dog Treats, used in conjunction with his medications, let him lead a happy, pain-free life. Knowing that there is a product out there that tastes great and helps with the pain and tightness in his joints gives me peace of mind.

Other than the aforementioned ingredients to help with joint and hip health, Happy Hips features a very simple formula – fresh chicken meat from cage-free chickens and some antioxidants with no preservatives or additives to mess with your mutt’s mojo. The texture is hard and tough but once Fido clamps down on it, the treat softens from exposure to saliva and persistent chewing.

A Happy Hips Dog Treat usually takes a dog about a minute to finish it completely, and you should allow a little while longer for light to moderate chewers. The snack shouldn’t cause any upset stomachs or nausea because it’s made from all-natural ingredients and it is small enough to cram a few in your pocket when you head out for a walk. Bottom line? These treats should make both your dog’s hips and his palate happy.

Pros: Helps to prevent pain and tightness from hip and joint issues; dogs love the taste.

Cons: None.

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
