AWESOME for the Traving Dog
posted 5 years ago
I picked up my first Fido Friendly Magazine at PetSmart the other day. I got it to read the article Seven Points to Buying a Car with Fido in Mind. Let me tell you quickly the 7 points.
1. space for a crate and does area slope.
2. tie down loops to hold the crate in place
3. do the seats fold flat and if so is there space between for a paw to get stuck.
4. split tailgate is nice so you can leash the dog before dropping the bottom half
5. height of the car. really tall might be hard to get into.
6. room for an aftermarket ramp would be nice for the senior dogs.
7. a cargo liner is nice for after a day of swimming.
It also talks about the different sizes of cars and more.
Now the rest of the mag. Everything is about traveling with your dog. From hotels and their pet fees and why, to flying your pet, and stories of folks who do travel far and wide with their pets.
I am going to get a subscription to this magazine since I know I will always get it and not have to go to the store and see if it is on the shelf.
Pros: packed with info on traveling with pet
Cons: which it was thicker since it is so good

Taking a trip with Mr Man
posted 5 years ago
I've been traveling with my pets for years now. I only go to a couple of destinations where they must stay at home but for the most part it isn't a vacation without them. Trips out east and up into Canada are my favorite. I am a suscriber to Fido Friendly, a bi-monthly publication, in order to find other exciting desitnations where my pets will be welcomed with open arms. Some of the places are on the high end but the costs are offset by the savings you'll have by not having to board fido! They also have lots of reader opinion so you really get first hand advice from others who travel too! One of the only resources where you can plan a trip, no matter the route or distance. Great website and travel clubs are also available which compliments this magazine so well. www.fidofriendly.com
Pros: Covers many exciting highly respected travel destinations
Cons: Hasn't covered too much within driving distance of me!

Doggie Transport Guy must have
posted 5 years ago
Wife brought home Fido Friendly and I was freaking excited about it. It was made for me the Doggie Transport Guy (www.doggietransportguy.com).
I transport dogs from shelters to rescues or adoptive families. I need to know what, where, who is dog friendly. I love this magazine and will be getting the subscription to it.
Pros: love it, love it
Cons: mad I never knew sooner

Good information
posted 5 years ago
My mom recently picked up an issue of this during a trip to Nashville. I had an opportunity to glance through it. I'm very impressed with the articles. I like any pet magazine that has informative articles. Fido magazine definitely does. It's a keeper.
Pros: informative
Cons: none

Fido Friendly magazine is the best
posted 4 years ago
I love this magazine because it is upbeat and current on issues and on the best fun to have with Fido in tow. It's primarily a magazine that focuses on traveling with Fido, but it has incredible articles, such as Lorraine Chittock's amazing worldwide travels with her two dogs. It has wonderful nutrition advice and all the fun things going on in the pet world as well. The articles are a perfect length, they always include the pertinent information in an easy-to-find format, and the design is fun.
Pros: Well-rounded and topic specific
Cons: wish it came every month!
