Didn't Renew My Subscription After The Second Year
posted 3 years ago
When I first subscribed to this magazine, I absolutely loved it. The photos were fantastic, the articles interesting, and the helpful hints were quite useful.
I guess I just got tired of the magazine, even though I did like it. The subscription renewal price was a bit high, unlike the introductory rate, so I didn't renew.
What I least liked about this magazine was the number of people submitting questions about how to rid their yards to "undesirable" birds, such as black birds/common grackle, CROWS (in particular), etc. These people are supposed to be "bird lovers", yet they "discriminate". I had hoped the subscribers would be more like me: feed and welcome whatever birds come into the yard. If you are going to put birdfood out, it should be for whatever birds come. Afterall, the "lesser-liked" birds get hungry just like the others. The magazine is "Birds & Blooms", not "Desirable Birds & Blooms".
Pros: Awesome photos; Just a nice magazine for bird/nature lovers/gardeners
Cons: Didn't hold my attention after two years

A great magazine!
posted 4 years ago
This magazine has been one of my favorites for years. I love the pictures, articles, tips, but mostly, the sharing of information by other birdwatchers! It's just one of those magazines that is always teaching you something.
I keep my copies to reference in case I have a question about something I read about. I am sure to find it!
Pros: a great variety of things to learn
Cons: none
