Cartiform-HS worked great

posted 5 years ago

I am a non-practicing veterinarian who owns a Golden-Roodle diagnosed with bilateral cruciate weakness/instability that was causing chronic lameness of varying severity. After evaluation, surgeons recommended surgery as the best choice for the dog. Given the requirement for long term cage rest, the dogs' hyperactive personality and large size, I was concerned that this approach would fail and chose a conservative approach that included daily feeding of Cartiform-HS (1/2 tsp/day). The results were amazing. Within a couple of months the dog returned to normal and has barely had a lame day in 2 years. The surgeon (who is highly respected and board certified) saw her again and could not believe how well she doing.

Pros: easy to administer, worked great

Cons: none

Carti-form HS supplement

posted 6 years ago

I have been very pleased with the efficacy of Carti-form HS. My fifteen year old horse was diagnosed with bilateral, high ringbone, degenerative joint disease, and partial joint fusion in his forelimbs. It seemed like overnight he went from no clinical signs to grade 5/5 lameness. After a few months of medical management with marginal improvement, I was given the opportunity to try Carti-form HS by a Lloyd representative that came to talk about the product at my vet school. My horse is an extremely picky eater, refusing treats ranging from apples to molasses, however he has not objected to this product being mixed with his feed. He has improved dramatically over the past few months on this product. I cannot say whether this product is the sole reason he has improved or if his joints have progressed in their fusion leading to pain relief. However, I believe that Carti-form HS has benefited him, and I am planning to keep him on this product.

Pros: easy to feed, palatable (apparently), effective

Cons: expensive for the average consumer
