I bought this years ago for myself but I did not like how it lathered. It did give me great body though. Now I use it on my dogs when I bath them. I figured it was good for horses so it should be good for dogs. They are so shiney and in my lab mix with the longer hair you can see how much body it gives him. I used to buy it at Big Lots for 2.00 a bottle which was a good deal. Now I get it at Walgreens when they do a buy 1 get 1 deal.
This is great stuff and I figure it is probably better for my dogs than people shampoo.

Pros: shiny coat, great body

Cons: doesn't lather as well as I would LIKE

This is a good inexpensive shampoo for horses.
I use it for everyday sort of baths. It's not my favorite for before a show.
Sometimes I double bathe before a show and I'll use this first and then a better shampoo that I like and it saves on the cost of the more expensive one.

I also have this on hand for after shows if it's hot and they need more than a rinse.

Cons: not as good as some other products

When you don't have much hair you want every one of them lookin' it's best....

Mane 'n Tail works fine. I've used it on the dogs too.
It cleans well and....

It's concentrated so a little goes a LONG way.

I "inherited" a tendency to fight with seborrhea (sp?).
It burns and itches and such. I've tried Hi-PO super specified prescription approaches to it, but the only thing that seems to do much good is Mane 'n Tail Horse Shampoo. The Dermatologists I've seen are amazed because their injections, detections, selections and objections did no good.

Occasionally, as I said above, I EVEN lavish the pups with a good scrubbin. THEY love it, but it's MINE ....

I love this stuff. The heck with horses I used this for myself. I discovered it years ago when I owned a horse and participated in horse shows. I used it on my horse only discover it worked great on my hair. I've used it exclusively for years. I don't have to worry about the shampoo building up on my hair. Plus it is so much cheaper than other shampoos designed for people. Great product!

When you have Irish Wolfhounds and Great Danes, people often make pony jokes. So I guess it is appropriate that I bathe my giant dogs with Mane N Tail Shampoo! This shampoo lathers quickly and is easy to rinse off. It doesn't irritate my dogs' skin and leaves their coats soft and shining. The only drawback to this product is that some people do not like the scent of the shampoo.
