It is a great asset for anyone who enjoys trail riding and is up to traveling. Be aware that trails change with weather and time, trees could have fallen, heavy rains could have changed the terrain, trails could have been shut down. Years ago, I'd have laughed out loud at the suggestion that someone put together a "Horse and Mule Trail Guide". Back then, we could ride "anywhere" !!

Nowadays, I don't have horses anymore, but I'd think it would be quite a challenge finding some "range" to ride. THIS lil book has GOT to be worth its weight in gold to a true Equine enthusiast.

From just reading through almost ALL of the reviews posted thus far, I can tell you, "I'm gettin' one !" - and I don't even have horse, OR a mule !!

BUT, my nearby neighbor "Dom" has BOTH !! He's got the prettiest spotted mules. They ( he and his wife ) got 'em at a recent trai ride ( I think ). Now, I'm thinking this "Guide" will come in handy for Dom and his Lady if they want to check out some "new territory".

We used this book going out to our local area. We live near Codorus State Park and originally just bought it to see if we were in in. And then after reading decided we would definately like to go on some trips next year for vacation. We go on horse vacations some times, but not a lot. I think that doing something like this would be great, taking a guide and roughing it would be cool.

I'd recommend this if you are looking for a trip beyond the Grand Canyon's pack mule adventure!

It is a great guide and really helped me because not every horse trail is open year round. It saved me from going somewhere only to find it closed. I also helps you decide where to ride by discription you know what to expect. Where it would be good to take young horse, where not.
