My dog had to have surgery on his hind leg and I didn't want to entrust him to the groomer, so I tried to learn to groom him myself. Well, I got all the tools and then some, even the clippers. I have no trouble brushing him, getting tangles out, but let me tell you. Clipping a lhasa is not a fun thing. The clippers got tangles in his hair, he didn't like that, he didn't like having his nails trimmed. so he was the most shaggy dog until he got well enough to go back to the groomers. Now he looks like a well groomed dog. I say, leave the grooming to the groomers. I will bathe him, brush him, cut the occasional tangle ot of his hair, but they can do the rest.
