I always have some off this around. It works great for when there is a rapid drop in levels and you need a quick dose of calcium to get your level up. I have noticed that more is needed then the recommended amount to acclompish this.

Believe it or not,the main reason I use this is because I've kept Apple and Spixi snails for years.
A few drops of the Kents Marine Liquid Calcium placed weekly in their tanks,helps to keep their shells growing strong
