Leaf cover for ponds

posted 6 years ago

I used this to keep leaves out of my pond and it worked well for that. It is hard to install by yourself even on a small pond. You need two or more people depending on pond to do a good job in a moderate amount of time.

Also, beware! I caught a young morning dove in the netting one year. She did survive after I dried her out and warmed her up, but it was a disturbing event. You have to keep the netting off the water surface so the fish do not get tangled, thus the birds are at risk. I do not use it on the pond anymore because of this. It does however, last forever.

Pros: keeps leaves out

Cons: hard to install yourself, beware of birds

Great for fall

posted 6 years ago

I don't leave mine up, except for a few weeks in the fall when the leaves are falling at the fastest, and when I can keep up with the leaves using the skimmer. These are never big enough, though, for my largest pond. Please make a huge one in the future.

Pros: Great for fall

Cons: none
