This is a shatter proof thermal plastic, fully submersible aquarium heater with a safety shut-off. It has an aluminum cylinder and eight-cavity heating element to distribute the core heat evenly. It also has an internal shock absorber. I have the one for up to 55 gallons. The feature I like best is the temperature dial as it is easy to read and adjust. The aquarium water is kept at a steady temperature I set. This is the first aquarium heater, after so many other heaters, I have used that I really like.

I purchased this heater after my aquatic turtles shattered my glass submersible heater. I love it. It is easy to keep clean. It keeps the tank at a consistent temperature even though I turn my home's heat down to 60 degrees during the days of winter. My turtles like to use it to get a boost closer to their warming light but the suction cups can't hold their weight so it is usually just floating around the bottom of the tank banging up against the glass and I don't even worry about it.

I love the fact that they're protected and programmed to turn off when the water level gets lower than the heater.I've ruined a few heaters in my lifetime,because I hadn't realized that the heater was out of water.
The biggest tip I can pass on for people ,is to buy the correct size for the tank that you have.

Had the stealth heater for 8 months and 6 hours after a feeding I found all my fish dead and the water temp was 100 degrees. The thermostat feature probably stuck on and cooked em'. I hadn't adjusted it since I first set it up. Watch out!
