Ok this may be alittle lengthly but I Knowwwww about Hagen Products cause I use to sell them in my store so here goes.

You can't go wrong with Hagen Products. The Mag Drive pumps will last and last if you take care of them and by that I mean a good prefilter or pump sack etc.

Do not discard a pump just because it is not putting out water use this test: put pump in a bucket of water, plug it in and feel the pump to see if there is a vibration if so your pump motor is stil good and you probably only need to replace the impeller shaft.

Get use to opening up your volute which is the cover over the impeller. Open it up pull out the impeller assembly and clean out all the goop inside and on the impeller. Inspect your impeller to make sure is ok.

A tiny piece of grit can lodge into the impeller and cause damage so take care of it.

Hagen has made available at a nominal price replacement parts for all the mag drive pumps and should be available wherever you bought your pump
if not call hagen they will send you one!!

Also they off a nice line of fish food and very economical prices, it contains no corn glutten products which is important and should not be feed to the fish.
