We have used this fish food ever since we got Goldie and she has thrived on it. Are there better foods, perhaps; but she has lived over 3 years and has been pretty healthy. We have had to cure her ick and a few other things, but she has outlived every type fish we have tried to raise with her. Goldie is so familiar with us now that she will jump up to get the food. The only problem we have is that some of the flakes will get to the bottom and we do not have a bottom dweller; they all seem to die quickly. We have started cleaning the tank with a scrubber and vacuuming the bottom to remove the debri. It seems to be working great. Of course, it is more trouble than getting a bottom dweller but you have to remove the do-do anyway so just get one of the vacuum kits to remove any flakes that are at the bottom.

It must be delicious because my golden carp (all 14 of them) and the 2 algae eaters have grown enormous with this food! They are now in a 55 gal tank (in a pond in the summer months), and gosh they are huge! I did not put them outside this past summer, so they stayed in the tank, and I may decide to just keep them in. When one of the grandsons comes by the tank, they all swim to see him. They also let us know they want more food by splashing in the corner closest to where we sit when we are watching TV.

My guppies absolutely love this food. They stay very happy and healthy. The females seem to live longer on this food. They are supposed to die after giving birth the first time, but with this food they live for years.

It is formulated to help goldfish keep their bright colors. This also works with my guppies. Their colors never fade or become muted like can happen with age. The babies seem to get their color sooner with this food too.

I recommend it for any non-tropical fish.

My daughter's fish seemed to really like this food! It would come to eat as soon as we fed him. And the price was very good!
My only problem (as with ALL flake fish food) is cleaning it up off the table/floor when my daughter attempts to feed the fish all by herself!
