Whisper Power Filters are the only filters I have ever used in my aquariums, so I have no basis for comparison, but this is what I have come to expect from Whisper Power Filters: They keep your tank QUITE clean for 2-3 months (I change the carbon thingy every 2-3 months, and my fish NEVER get sick/die), however, the name "Whisper" would suggest that the filters are completely silent, which is simply not true. However, the noise from the filter isn't SO loud as to be disruptive, unless you are really sensitive to sounds.

Cons: Louder than a "whisper"

I really like the Whisper power filters. Very effective and very quiet. I would definately by the Whisper products again.

I had to double up on my tank that one was supposed to handle. long lasting durability.
