Marineland Penguin 100 Bio-wheel Power Filter

After going through a few of Tetra's Whisper filters, I had my mom(I was already in the store, prepared to buy a new filtered) compare reviews for the filters on the shelf and this filter had the best reviews by far. I have a 20 gal tank with a few goldfish, so I needed a good filter. This filter works great and is easy to clean. I haven't had any issues with the filter getting bogged down or anything!

However, one day we did have a power surge and that power surge blew the motor in the filter. This isn't really the filter's fault so much as the crappy wiring in my old apartment. I still love this filter and I just attribute that to a bit of bad luck, a freak accident if you will.

I highly recommend this filter to anyone who is looking for a good filter that will last.

my maintainence man has a giant tank (55 gal, I think) in the rental office and he uses the same brand of filters, he had one last for 15 years, finally he had to replace it because the plastic that holds the biowheel in the place was kind of getting worn down. Not too bad if you ask me!

I own 3 marineland "back of the tank" filters and a canister filter. they all are quiet, reliable, and i would never use anything else. the bio-wheel filtration system is excellent. my tanks are clean and i have had no maintainance to the filter systems over the years. highly recommend!
