Fluval Canister Filters 05 Series

The filter is amazing. It comes prepacked with necessary carbon and bio filter media, as well as four filter pads. I've had my filter for going on two years now, and I've yet to need to change my filter media. A regular cleaning does the trick and keeps it in top shape. The only difficulty with cleaning is the bulk of the canister. I have a 305 Fluval, and it's quite large. When it's full of water, it makes it difficult for me to move. It's a two person job to remove the filter tubing from inside the tank and then move the canister somewhere to be emptied out and cleaned. The top of the filter is a tight fit and takes quite some effort to remove at times as well.

Despite the cons, it's a powerful filter and does it's job well. Keeps my turtle's tank nice and clean with regular water changes and upkeep, and yet to have anything go wrong with it yet. Highly recommended.

Pros: Quiet, easy to prime, canister filter, easy assembly, rarely needs to be cleaned, keeps water clear, does it's job well!

Cons: Heavy to move, difficult to remove top for cleaning at times

Fluval cannisters are some of the best you can buy! The new generation of Fluvals are even better than the old ones!! My older Fluval 403 is still running 24/7 even after many years.... I want to get one of the new Fluvals...but my old one just won't quit working !! Buy a Fluval..you won't regret it!!
