I just bought one of these Rena canister filter systems for my 125 gallon tank. Right now I only have two little Oscars (sure to grow up big and strong). I am shocked at how quiet this filter is. You can't hear it at all except for a tiny hum in the background. It is very effective at cleaning debris from the tank. I haven't had to change/clean the filter yet so I don't know how difficult that might be. It is a little on the costly side but well worth the investment for a clean tank. It uses biological and charcoal filter media. Great filter system for large tanks.
