I have one installed in my aquarium. I change the direction that the water flows every couple weeks. The fish seem to enjoy the water flow change. Very easy to install. I like creating small currents in different parts of the tank. The fish tend to hang out in one area, move the current around and they will hang out in other areas. Keeps the bottom from getting out of hand on one side of the tank. Lets you change the direction of water flow so the current is less destructive to the plants. I would recommend if you have a canister filter.

Ive used this on my filter system to change the direction of the outflow for the fish. They love swimming into it and I think it gives a more natural current for them. I am ours at the back glass to move the water around more
