Fluval 3plus Internal Filter

I bought this filter a while ago for my turtle tank which was only 30 gallons at the time. The first thing I noticed is that it was overall too light in weight. While this may seem good, it became a hassle for me as it would easily come off of it's base. The only way I could make it stay in is lay it horizontally and press it down in the bottom corner of the tank so it wouldn't float off by itself and so my turtles wouldn't knock it loose (which won't be a problem with those just purchasing it for a tank with fish).

It does do it's job though. It keeps tanks nice, clean and clear. It has an adjustable water flow which keeps a good current circulating in the water. The filter pads are a breeze to change and you can also buy additional carbon pads and water polishing pads that you can place in between the regular foam pads for better filtering.

The cleanup can sometimes be tricky, however. Its best to use a brush with a long handle to clean the main tray out in between changing pads. There's alot of little areas you wanna make sure you scrub good so no loose filth goes back into the water.

The only other drawback is that it is kind of bulky to submerse in a tank. Even a large tank. Most of the time is kind of ruins the habitat experience for me, but I am a picky one.

The cons are small though if you're looking for a good submersible filter that's affordable and does it's job well.
