Not something I would use
posted 7 years ago
I helped moderate a fish forum for years, and I can't begin to tell you how many "near fatal & actual deaths" came from people using these sort of products.
If you're going to be gone from a few days to up to a week or so,your best bet is to let them wait until you get home,or find a responsible person that won't overfeed the tank when you're gone.
Most fish can tolerate going without food longer than you think.
Another safe solution would be to buy aquarium plants like elodea, for the fish to nibble on(depending on what types of fish you have of course)
These feeder blocks tend to crumble away a lot faster than your told. Most times they alter your tank params greatly and either make the fish ill,or actually die.
It is one product that I really wouldn't use.
Cons: pollute,water,and worse,mqay kill fish
