I always use a breeding net when I see that I have a pregnant fish however I believe it is necessary to have a hiding place for the babies once they are old enough to release into the community tank. I have lost many babies by not having enough thick grasses and plants for them to hide in. This breeding grass in a must for any tank with live bearing fish.

This saved quite a few babies

I always have a few of these for anytime that I'm keeping live bearers,as they're perfect for them to hide in.

Pros: good price easy to clean up a safe haven for hiding fry
