I went away for a few days and this was good to use to take care of my two goldfish. I don't think very much is dispensed, but it is adequate. It is on a twice a day cycle every twelve hours and works by battery. The fish seemed hungry when I got home but they were looking healthy and fine. I made sure I bought fresh batteries so the auto feeder wouldn't stop working. I guess the power could have gone out to and disabled the filter. There's always something that could happen no matter what.

this works very well for vacations (better than dissolving food pellets) and regular feeding. the main problem is you don't know when the battery is low unless you take it out and use a tester (who wants to!) I have seen other models with a low battery light (I would buy that one if given the oppurtunity).

i love this. it allows me to go away for days at a time w/out the worryof who will take care of my fish. it automatically dispenses a set amt. of food 2x / day and is economical to run.

I looked at quite a few of these before purchasing - they were way too overpriced at the large pet store people know (I won't name it). But, good ol' Walmart had this one reasonably priced and it's kept my fish well fed and healthy!

Pros: convenient

Cons: don';t know how much to dispense

It gets dirty easily, but it's easy to use. I had a hard time finding a spot for it. It was replaced with one that rests anywhere on the top.
