If you have an aquarium, you will need to do water changes. Usually about 20% monthly. This siphon allows you to remove the water into a bucket. You get it full of water and it starts sucking up water as well as all the waste on the gravel. It will not remove the gravel, it just vacuums it. I could not live without one. It can suck up small fish so watch out for those neons. There are fancier, more expensive siphons out there, but in 20 years I've stuck to this one.
