Wonderful, bitter-sweet book

It's a heartwarming tale about a dogs devotion for his owner. So sweet, but with the normal ups and downs of a life and family.
Pros: It's narrated from the dog's point of view.
Cons: It ends how most dog fiction ends, with the dog's death.
