Editor's Review
Yöghund organic frozen yogurt for dogs is a healthy alternative to other frozen treats.
August 18, 2011 4:29 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
Frozen yogurt shops and stands seem to be popping up everywhere these days, offering a healthy alternative to more “sinful” frozen summer treats. But what about those classic lovers of ice cream, our pooches? Well, The Barking Dog has created an alternative for them too — yöghund organic frozen yogurt for dogs.
The ingredients in these yogurt cups are completely all-natural and organic, and each flavor option includes — what else? — all-natural, nonfat yogurt with live and active cultures, giving dogs the same health benefits of probiotics that humans get. And the different formulas go beyond the usual fruit or peanut butter options (although the Organic Banana & Peanut Butter option was a hit during trial taste tests).
yöghund offers a range of creative flavor profiles, such as Organic Blueberry & Vanilla Bean, All-Natural Apple & Cheddar, and All-Natural Papaya & Peanut Butter, all of which are designed to satisfy even the finickiest of Fidos. And the yogurts feature organic fruit purees and fibers mixed in with the yogurt, so you can serve up the yöghund guilt-free all year long. Possibly because of the natural ingredients, yöghund treats are also low-calorie, coming in at less than 100 calories per serving for each flavor.
Although the frozen yogurt craze seems to be growing daily among humans, these treats can be harder to find, but the company’s website provides a handy store locator if you’re looking to give your pooch a fun, frozen alternative to ice cream.
Pros: All-natural and organic, contains real nonfat yogurt.
Cons: None.

Healthy summer treat
posted 4 years ago
My dog loved this as much as the "other" dog ice cream, and I liked that they are healthier.
I can only find them at boutique pet stores around here, while the "other" brand is easy to pick up in any major grocery store. They are more expensive though.
This is a good product, but I've found it's just easier to make my own frozen treats for my dog at home using yogurt, PB, and the ice cube tray!
Pros: better ingredients than other dog-ice-cream
Cons: pricey, harder to find
