Nylabone Healthy Edibles offer a more natural chewing option for your dog.

October 11, 2010 8:25 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

Healthy Edibles, by Nylabone, are edible bone-shaped treats available in roast beef flavor, among others. These treats provide pooches with a delicious and nutritious chewing experience. The tough texture of the bone stimulates the dog’s teeth while its size and shape fits easily in their mouth.

Healthy Edibles are 100% digestible and made from mostly natural ingredients such as natural beef, bacon flavor and oat fiber. When I gave Healthy Edibles to our tester dog he chewed on it for about fifteen minutes before realizing that he could break it apart and eat it, at which time he commenced doing so.

The one drawback to Nylabone Healthy Edibles is its size. As a chew toy, it should be bigger, and as a treat, it should be smaller. The reason for this is simple — because the toy is edible, the dog is digesting quite a lot of food if he does in fact consume the whole thing. The best way to deal with this issue is to simply supervise your dog’s chewing of the toy and see how quickly he is devouring it. Different dogs will chew at different paces. Some dogs may not eat it at all and prefer to just use it as a chew toy.

No matter how your dog consumes the treats, you’ll be glad to know that Nylabone Healthy Edibles are made from a combination of natural ingredients and preservatives.

Pros: Good quality ingredients, dogs will enjoy the stimulating texture for chewing.

Cons: Size is too big for a training treat, too small for a chew toy.

Good, but didn't last long

posted 5 years ago

I thought these would have lasted at least a half hour or so with cleo and her pal... try 5 or 10 minutes! But they liked them so it's at least worth a try, especially if your barkers aren't so quick to devour things!!

Pros: dogs liked em

Cons: went fast

Healthy bones

posted 5 years ago

this is a great bone, and it is very healthy, and dogs try to chew on this when they are little puppies.

Pros: great, and very cheap

Cons: none
