Dog Joy treats combine the highest quality ingredients with an irresistible taste.
September 20, 2010 11:43 am | By Zootoo Editor Ashley W.
Freshpet Dog Joy Treats, formerly called The Loved Dog Treats, are 100% natural dog treats. As such, the product makes a terrific training tool or a great snack for man’s best friend—one that owners can dispense guilt-free.
I stored the treats in the refrigerator as Freshpet suggests. Almost instantly, the moment my hand would touch the refrigerator door, our tester dog Annie would sit patiently, awaiting her new favorite treat. The Freshpet Dog Joy treats were such a nice change from the typical “all natural” dry dog biscuits of the past. Also, several other dog jerkys and treats stamped with words like “beef” and “chicken” are loaded with artificial flavors and colors, as well as mysterious other ingredients.
Many dog treats are jumping on the “all natural” bandwagon. These treats are not only completely natural and made from grilled chicken and beef, but they also contain no corn, wheat, or soy. They’re made in the USA and contain no preservatives. Freshpet Dog Joy treats are priced slightly above some of the competition’s all natural dog treats, but they’re worth every cent. These treats are also easy to break into smaller pieces if necessary for training purposes or smaller dogs.
All of Freshpet’s products affirm that they provide fresh, human-grade food and treats for pets—and these Dog Joy treats certainly seem to be of that caliber. Beef, chicken, ground oats, beef broth, salt, and natural flavors are the kind of ingredients we should be feeding those special four-legged members of our families.
Bottom line: The packaging suggests that the contents of the pouch be used within 14 days of being opened… but if your dog enjoys these treats as much as our tester did, the treats will not last the entire 2 weeks.
Pros: All-natural ingredients; dogs love the taste.

Got these treats for both Yorkies, 1 is 16 yrs and the other is 1 year. Within 24 hours both dogs became ill, explosive bowels and vomiting. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Check all the ingredients it has pea fiber ( filler). I bought these at Walmart. In process of returning them and getting both dogs to the emergency room.
Pros: dogs love the taste
Cons: sick to stomach

My dogs love the chicken and beef ones. These have got to be one of their favorite treats.
The only bad thing is the packaging suggests that the contents of the pouch be used within 14 days of being opened so they don't keep long.
Pros: Fresh treats, my dogs think they are tasty!
Cons: The packaging suggests that the contents of the pouch be used within 14 days of being opened
