Bil-jac Liver Treats For Dogs
(4 out of 5)
Bil-Jac Liver Treats make a perfect reward for pooches.
September 26, 2010 11:20 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
Bil-Jac Liver Treats for Dogs are a perfect way to show your dog love or give him a reward. The small treats fit in the palm of your hand, or by the bundle in your pocket, and are packed with enough energy to keep your dog firing on all cylinders throughout the day.
One drawback worth mentioning — the ingredients in Bil-Jac aren’t the most natural, so if you’re looking for a preservative free treat, Bil-Jac is not for you. However it’s important to keep in mind that if you want treats that are going to last for more than a few days, you’re probably going to have to accept some sort of preservative in your dog’s treats. That said, the ingredients used in Bil-Jac aren’t the worst by far, including glycol, propionate and glycerin, which are contained in many dog foods.
Bil-Jac treats are handy for several purposes, including training purposes. And as a bonus, the texture is soft and chewy, stimulating your dog’s gums and his natural instinct to chew. Our tester dog relished the taste — he would eat ten at a time if he could. But as with all dog treats, the product is not a meal replacement and should only be used sporadically throughout the day. As a rule of thumb, try to resist your dog’s whimpers for more than five of these goodies per day. Otherwise, indulge your dog guilt-free.
Pros: Convenient small size; dogs love the taste.
Cons: Not entirely preservative-free.
