Please note, that the version of these treats I purchased are slightly different. They are called "Hip Action with added Glucosamine and Chondroitin" and contain 300 mg Glucosamine HCL and only 50mg of the Chondroitin Sulfate.

I began to give Beef Formula version of these treats to my old dog because he has trouble getting around. It's much easier than trying to make him eat the Glucosamine and Chondroitin in pill form! He loves these things. He immediately begins to drool if I get within 5 feet of the bag. :) He also has an allergy to poultry, and these contain none. That's rare to find!

I recently began giving these to my little dachshund also, as the breed is prone to joint/bone problems. He loves the taste too.

These treats are the perfect size for both dogs (one 75lbs, other 15lbs!). They are flat, moist, chewy squares.

I say the price is a "con" but they are really not that expensive. Naturally they are more expensive than the cheaper treats, but these are high quality.

Guinness is an 8-year old dach/minpin mix who is incredibly athletic and can easily jump straight up 4+ feet. However, for a couple of years he was plagued with sore hips/legs and eventually diagnosed with arthritis. At times he was on Rimadyl and also glucosamine & chondroitin supplements with limited success.
