Ruff Rider Roadie Dog Harness

Rating: 5

(5 out of 5)

Tags: products, care & safety

Researched and independently tested, Ruff Rider’s Roadie Canine Vehicle Restraint keeps the dog you love safe and secure while riding, braking or turning, and affords the best protection in extreme situations. It easily attaches to any vehicle's seatbelt system and the tether acts as a short walking leash for “pit-stops” and all around use. When not in the car, the tether/leash can be rolled up and secured with the hook & loop closure. Roadie is not designed to fit skin-tight like other harnesses; a looser fit assures your dog stays comfortable and secure.

The Ruff Rider Roadie Dog Harness keeps car-loving canines safe and comfortable.

December 15, 2011 3:46 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

If your dog is a typical canine, a car ride isn’t just a chance to get from Point A to Point B. Instead, a car ride is an opportunity to explore the world, from the windows, from the back of the vehicle, and — preferably — from the windshield, perched right by the driver’s side, or even in your lap. Of course, this exciting time for your dog can mean a distraction for you, as well as potential danger should you have an unforeseen accident. Fortunately, with the Ruff Rider Roadie Dog Harness, you can rest assured that your car-loving canine will be protected — and that you will be free to concentrate on the road.

The Ruff Rider Road Dog Harness, like similar car harnesses on the market, works with your car’s existing seatbelts. Also, the structure of the restraint allows for enough range of motion that your dog will be able to sit or stand in the backseat, giving him some reassurance that he’s not completely strapped in.

Aside from the obvious safety benefit, another plus of the Ruff Rider Roadie Dog Harness is that it’s intended for use both as a car harness and as an everyday harness. If you and your dog tend to hit the road a lot, or you’re on a long car trip where wrestling your dog in and out of a harness repeatedly seems like a burden, this feature is definitely a plus. Also, the harness is durable but comfortable, with a loose but secure fit to help ensure that your canine is at ease — even if he can no longer snag the prime seat in your lap.

Pros: Easy to use; safe and secure, comfortable but durable.

Cons: None.

Although the product is highly touted, I can not recommend this product if purchased thru www.ruffrider.com due to consistently bad experiences with customer service.

Pros: Great Product

We use this at our shelter when transporting dogs to and from the vet. Especially those that are overly excited in a vehicle.
