Paws Aboard Doggy Boat Ladder

I ordered this ladder for our pontoon boat because the regular "human" ladder would be impossible for the dogs to climb. The Paws Aboard ladder is well constructed and has lots of nice features. The dogs used it a few times and it worked well. However, it was a bit of a pain to hook up each time they went swimming. I eventually began hoisting the dogs out of the water by using the handle on their life jackets, which is very easy and is a lot less work. The ladder was very expensive too...I paid almost $180 or $190 for it.

Pros: Allows dogs to climb onto boat easily

We purchased two of these ladders over the last few summers. They are great for letting your dog get in and out of the water from your boat. Mine weigh 91 and 113 pounds, and it will support up to 130 pounds. It folds up for storing, it is very lightweight, and it gives the dogs the freedom of going in and out of the boat to swim. We found it thru Pawsaboard.com, but purchased it thru K9hunter.com, I believe. My dogs, Gabby and Charley, are both on the website using the ladder. The second one we bought rusted due to the screws not being stainless steel, when they were supposed to be. I sent them a pix of the rusted screws, and by 5:00 the next day, we had received a replacement! Wow. The customer service center is very friendly and helpful. Since we have bought the first one, I see quite a few boats out there with the same ladder. It can aslo be put on your dock. We love ours! It's a little pricey, ($195) but not compared to what else is out there. It is made of plastic, so I suggest you keep it under cover or out of the sun while storing it on your boat. We live in Florida and the sun can be brutal on it. It's a must-have for any dog that loves to boat and swim!

Pros: constructed for use outdoors, lightweight, bright yellow, good engineering

Cons: wish the steps were a little wider for bigger dogs
