When I ordered this kit, I thought it was just about training puppies. But it's more about getting to know and understand dogs and why they behave the way they do. Then, using that knowledge to apply to training the puppy through positive reinforcement. The series of booklets seemed awkward at first but this makes for easier reference when covering the important areas. I recommend this to everybody especially the newcomers to puppy world.

I fostered a litter of beagle puppies last year and the first went to a first time beagle home with about three elementary aged kids. I bought this for the family as a gift to help them learn about how to raise 'Lucy.' The kids loved all of the informational pamphlets and the parents said they became great little trainers, especially when they hit a snag with potty training! I would consider this for any first time younger dog owner, or with children. Others will find this a nice refresher but not necessary. Cute little box the kids went crazy for it. Great tool working as a family to raise a puppy.
