Solvit Ultralite Pet Stairs
(5 out of 5)
Solvit UltraLite Pet Stairs provide a safe climb for pets.
February 8, 2011 5:40 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
For pets needing a little extra help reaching favorite surfaces, the Solvit UltraLite Pet Stairs provide a sturdy, easy-to-use solution. Maybe your pet is too small to reach your bed or getting too far along in years to climb on the couch for a nap (and too heavy for you to lift him without spraining your back!). No matter what the reason, this multi-use product is suitable for helping your pet both move around inside the house and climb into the backseat of your car.
Owners will appreciate the lightweight portability of the UltraLite Pet Stairs. Weighing in at only ten pounds, the stairs are not too cumbersome – a special bonus if you have a pet who is whimpering to be on the bed with you one minute, then on the couch with your family the next minute. The lightweight construction doesn’t mean that only small pets can use these stairs – the Solvit UltraLite stairs support up to 250 pounds, a claim that seemed to hold up when trying them out with our large tester mutt.
The Solvit UltraLite Pet Stairs are also easy to clean – especially convenient if you’re planning to use them indoors. Just some soap on the carpet portions and a good hosing all over and the stairs are good as new. The carpet also helps animals keep a solid grip on the stairs – a plus for senior pets.
The only drawback to using the stairs may be getting your pet acclimated to climbing them (instead of having Mom or Dad lift him!). A few sessions with a treat waiting at the top of the stairs can help overcome your pet’s hesitation – until he realizes the benefits of reaching the couch or bed safely.
Pros: Durable and lightweight; easy to clean and use.

Good for older and fatter pets

I want my pets to always be able to get on the beds, chairs, couch - but some of them are fat and old - and can't make the jump up anymore - and the jump down is hard on their joints. This is nice and solves the problem.
Pros: helps them get up on furniture
