Amazon.com Ensure personal safety and the safety of others with this highly effective, safe, and humane way to deter aggressive animals. The strong force of the spray when combined with the unique citronella odor provides the unexpected element of surprise. The attack is interrupted and the animal is distracted from the object of its aggression, thus giving valuable seconds to help the user retreat to a safe place. When tested with trained attack dogs, the revolutionary citronella formula was found to be just as effective as 10-percent pepper spray, yet without harmful, painful side effects, therefore it doesn't heighten aggression and can be used indoors. Plus it won't injure users or onlookers if the spray accidentally blows into their eyes. Carry the animal-deterrent spray when cycling, running, or walking with family or pets. It's also ideal for dog trainers, kennel staff, animal control officers, mail carriers, and utility workers to carry instead of pepper spray. The spray works not only on dogs, but can also be used on cats, venomous snakes, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, and other aggressive animals. Easy to use, just shake the can once a day prior to potential use, and spray toward the animal's nose until the animal retreats. Each can contains approximately 12 one-second sprays at a range of up to 10 feet and is highly effective in stopping low- to medium-level aggression. Independently conducted Canine Aggression trials show that Direct Stop is effective in controlling dogs exhibiting low to medium levels of aggression (this is the maximum level of aggression controlled with police certified pepper spray). The Citronella Direct Stop does not bring out more aggression in dogs, whereas pepper spray often does. When Direct Stop is sprayed the animal will feel the full impact of the pressurized and offensive smelling Citronella from 10 feet away. Is safe for humans and animals as it does not hurt the eyes. A 3 ounce can contains 13 - one second sprays. See all

Necessary tool

posted 5 years ago

I live next door to a reactive dog with a careless owner. The dog is supposed to be on a leash at all times but it is let out on its own whenever this owner doesn't feel like using one. The dog attacked my old Danny Boy in the our garage and thankfully I had this spray and saved him from harm. I have it with me all the time when walking. It is better to be safe than sorry and I never leave home without it.

Pros: quick deterrent citronella

Cons: none

Looks like it is a mild deterrent

posted 5 years ago

I have seen it in use only once in our program with aggressive dogs. It worked that time (indoors). I guess it may not work with very aggressive dogs and also if the wind blows in the wrong direction outdoors it may be ineffective.

Pros: may work

Cons: may not work
