It works!

posted 5 years ago

I had a pup who ate feces from the moment I got him and I didn't know what to do. I found this product at a local Tractor Supply and thought I would give it a try. I gave my dog two a day. I then realized it wasn't just his feces, but my other dogs as well. So I gave him one a day as well. He no longer eats feces, and when I last ran out of Potty Mouth I didn't replace it. He still has not returned to eating feces.

Pros: Effective, dogs seem to like taste

Cons: Probably would be harder for large breeds

Cleaning the yard for me

posted 7 years ago

Hrothgar has taken to eating poop. There I said it. It just started when he started getting lumps on his tongue. Yes, lumps on his tongue. And he only ate the frozen poocles as we call them.

I asked the vet if they thought it was the cold that made his tongue freeze up and not feel weird from the lumps.

Well, he had surgery, removed the lumps and he is still at it. He also has new lumps on his tongue.

Pet People recommended Potty Mouth since Forbid, Deter, and Meat Tenderizer did not work. So far so good.

However, I have to give each dog the Potty Mouth since Hrothgar will eat anybody's. The problem with that is the number of pills. One pill per 10 pounds. Hrothgar has to take 10, Alarm 6 and Differ 5. The pack comes in a 60 count for $9.00. You have to give for 2 weeks. And if the problem continues, you double the dose for 2 more weeks.

Yea, you do the math. But I wanted to end the Poop eating, so I got it. And so far it has worked. The box recommends as a preventative treatment to continue to feed one pill daily to each dog.

Again, it is working, but I a really hoping that once winter is over and the poopcles are gone for good, Hrothgar will stop.

Again, as of March 6th, no more poop has been eaten and we are at the end of week one.

Pros: chewable

Cons: too many pills for large size dog

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
