We have used this product for all our dogs. You don't need to purchase the most expensive name brand. This one works great. You must first train your dogs to the flags and they do have to receive a small shock at the very beginning. We have put it on ourself to make sure the shock is not harmful. Once the dogs learn the flag boundaries, they learn to hear the beeps that increase as they get nearer to the buried line. Most dogs never need to have the shock again. It has kept our dogs safe. Even if other dogs come near the boundaries, our dogs respect the line.

It works so well, that we are considering getting one for our cat!

Our beagle has freedom to run around the yard. She learned exactly where the boundaries of the radio fence is and stays in the yard. She enjoys the freedom and we are grateful it was so easy to train her. Highly recommended!!

Even our malaute pays attention to the radio fence; it is fabulous. Her headstrong, hard headedness was no match for the radio fence and she is now able to roam over an acre or so in an area that is safe.
