You can teach your dog to jump to new heights with this single bar hurdle. Its simple design and sturdy construction make it durable, but its composition from lightweight PVC ensures that your dog won't get hurt if he knocks it down. Set-up is easy, and a handy carrying case lets you take the bar with you or store it when it's not in use. For safety reasons, the bar is designed to fall to the ground if your dog hits it while jumping. Includes: two bar jump supports, one 48" bar jump (with tape), two caps, two 10" base pipes, four caps, one 48" stabilizing bar, two 30" vertical upright bars, two caps, two 4-way connectors and carry case. Training Level: Beginner.

The PetSafe Agility Bar Jump gives dogs a break from boring playtimes.

August 11, 2011 12:25 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

As a dog owner, you may hear the word “agility” in the product name of the PetSafe Agility Bar Jump and think of televised canine competitions in which wonder-pooches perform incredible feats of dexterity and showmanship.

Then you may look at your own dog, chasing his tail in endless circles or wondering what happened to the toy that he just pushed under the sofa himself and think, “hmm…. agility challenges might not be for my pooch.”

The good news? Even if a piece of equipment is designed for agility training, it can still act as a fun, engaging break for your dog from the usual playtime routine. By setting up the PetSafe Agility Bar Jump in your yard, you don’t have to turn your dog into the next national trophy winner to get a lot of mileage out of trying it out with your pooch.

The PetSafe Agility Bar Jump features many design touches that are ideal for the novice dog (and the owner who’s also new at training!). The pieces are easy to assemble, and the set comes with a carrying case (if your pooch is ready to strut his new backyard tricks at the local dog run).

And although the bar will stand up to multiple training sessions, the individual pieces are light enough to help avoid injury in case your dog knocks it down during the first few tries.

Of course, you may find that your pooch is skeptical about how to use the bar at first, but a few treats and encouraging words can help to unleash his inner jumper and lead the way to hours of healthy playtime.

Pros: Easy to assemble; lightweight but durable.

Cons: None.
