We picked these up for barking, digging, and escaping the yard. We stopped the barking, digging, and escaping the yard. Ranger will still open the gate but won't walk through it any more. Phoenix will not even think of digging up the yard anymore. They only bark when someone comes in the back door. These collars are meant to be aids in training. If you don't know what you are doing with them get help before attempting to use. When used correctly your dog will not need one forever. We used them about 2 months and haven't needed them since. The batteries are not cheap but can be purchased at Walmart. You can't wash the collars due to the electronics attached. These are not a cheap thing. They run about $150-$200.

Pros: It gives an instant discipline when you can't reach

Cons: Not good for a novice trainer
