Fun for you and your dog
posted 6 years ago
Roy Hunter’s book, “Fun Nosework for Dogs,” gives some simple, yet fun games to play with your dog to utilize his sense of smell. It also provides exercises to train your dog for tracking and searching. One of our dogs has an exceptional nose. One of the book’s games I like to play with her is to put my scent on an object, then intermix the object among about 30 other objects. It’s so much fun to watch her “nose” through the pile and reject objects until she finds the correct one. And she’s so happy and confident when she finds it.
Pros: Uses and develops a dog’s sense of smell with games and exercises
Cons: Your dog never wants to stop
