Pet Select Allen Scooper Helps Keep our Shelter Grounds Clean!
posted 6 years ago
Lakeland Animal Welfare Society has the Allen Scooper available for Volunteers and Visitors to use when walking the Shelter Dogs or their own Dogs. This Scooper works quite well and can withstand cleaning in bleach water after each use. This helps keep the grounds clean and more pleasant for walks. Each day Volunteers try to come and take the Shelter Dogs for walks, play with them and give them one on one TLC. I feel the Allen Scooper is fairly priced. One does have to be extra careful with the Scooper in very cold temperatures as the plastic tends to crack easier from force or blows.
Pros: Light Weight, Cleanable in Bleach, Works on Grass, Easy to Use, Easy to Carry
Cons: Plastic can become brittle in extreme cold and crack.

On one hand these are nice cause you can use one hand. But they don't last very long before the spring breaks or the plastic scooper part breaks. Not good in cold weather...okay we don't have much in Florida but...
Pros: Light and one handed
Cons: Don't last

Everything about this item screams CHEAP!

I had a friend pick it up from wal-mart for me. I used it once and didn't like it. It didn't get "all the pile" and most of it stuck to the scooper part. As well, this item is made of very cheap plastic. After washing it and hanging it in my shed, the spring rusted on it and now it's no longer usable. Don't waste your money, get a metal one.
Pros: Okay when it works
Cons: Cheaply made, rusts
